Connect Rakuten and view Rakuten attribution data alongside the rest of your marketing channels

Set up the report in Rakuten

In order for Triple Whale access accurate and relevant Rakuten data, a report in the Rakuten dashboard needs to be setup first.

  1. Select Sales and Activity Report from the dropdown

  2. Add the following columns to the report:

    1. Offer Name

    2. Offer ID

    3. Link Name

    4. Link ID

4. Click 'Manage Report' -> 'Save as New Report'

5. Save the new report with the name 'tw_report'

6. Click the arrow next to 'View Report'
7. Select option 'Get API'
8. A URL will appear. Copy the value that appears after the word token= and keep it somewhere safe.

Get Connected

  1. To set up your integrations, head to Settings > Integrations. Locate Rakuten and click Connect.

  2. If you have done the steps above, enter the Token in the proper field.

  3. In the MID field, you must paste your Rakuten MID. This is the number that appears in the upper right hand corner of your Rakuten dashboard.

UTM Setup

A Tracking Parameter is a snippet of code that you can add to the end of a URL to track the performance of campaigns and content. By using Triple Whale's custom Tracking Parameters in your Rakuten Ads account, each visitor will be informing our Pixel exactly which ad they just clicked on before arriving at your store.

  1. To add these UTMs in Rakuten, head to Home -> Links -> Link Parameters.

  2. 'Select Parameter Type' = Linkshare

  3. You will need to add 3 parameters:

    1. Parameter Name: tw_campaign; Value Name: Publisher Name

    2. Parameter Name: tw_adsetid; Value Name: Offer ID

    3. Parameter Name: tw_adid; Value Name: Creative ID

Data Library

Once you are connected, Rakuten data will start to import into your Triple Whale Dashboard. Head over to the Summary dashboard to track your most important metrics. You should see this section:

Additionally, Rakuten Spend will now be included in your Net Profit calculation:

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. I was using Affluencer Hub to track my Rakuten data. How will that work now?

  • On the pixel page, orders that were attributed to the Affluencer Hub before you connect the integration, will remain attributed to Affluencer hub.

  • As soon as your Rakuten UTMs are setup and the integration is connected to Triple Whale, data moving forward will be attributed properly to Rakuten and the publishers you work with under the Rakuten source in the Pixel page.

  • On the summary page, Rakuten data will be available for all data historically.
