Create Dashboard Widgets with Moby
Create new widgets directly inside your dashboard using a version of Moby purpose built for widget creation.
What this feature does
Moby now helps you build widgets right from your dashboard, without needing to switch to the Moby chat experience.
When you click Add New Section, you can simply describe what you want, and Moby for Dashboards - a specialized model trained specifically for widget building - will generate a widget for you.
You can then:
Approve & Add the widget to your dashboard
Retry with updated instructions
Nothing is added automatically - you’re always in control.
How to Create a Widget with Moby
Open any dashboard.
Click Add New Section.
In the prompt, describe the widget you want.
Example:
“Show ROAS for the last 60 days in a line chart.”
Moby will generate a widget preview.
Choose:
Approve & Add – the widget is added to your dashboard
Retry – give Moby more details or corrections
What You Can Ask For
Moby understands metrics, timeframes, breakdowns, and visual types. For example:
“Line chart of revenue for the last 30 days.”
“Break down orders by channel in a bar chart.”
“Table of my top 10 SKUs by net profit last month.”
“Pie chart of new vs returning customers this week.”
Moby for Dashboards interprets your request and generates a widget layout and configuration that fits the data.
Tips for Best Results
Include metrics, timeframes, and breakdowns when possible
Mention visualization type if you have a preference
If Moby’s preview isn’t quite right, click Retry and refine your instructions
Once added, you can still edit the widget manually
After Approving Your Widget
Once you click Approve & Add, you can:
rename it
move it around your dashboard
resize it
edit filters or chart style
FAQs
Does Moby automatically add widgets to my dashboard?
No, you review everything first. Nothing is added until you click Approve & Add.
How is this different from using Moby chat?
Moby chat can still answer questions about your data, but Moby for Dashboards is specialized for building widgets and works directly inside your dashboard.
Can I still build widgets manually?
Yes! This feature is an alternative, not a replacement.
