What permissions does Moby need to take actions in my ad accounts?

Short answer

The connected account needs permission to modify campaigns, ad sets, ads, or the relevant platform objects. Actions do not work with read-only access.

Details

Moby uses your connected platform accounts to perform supported actions. If the connected user only has view access, Moby may be able to analyze performance but cannot make changes.

For ad platforms, permissions may be needed for actions such as:

  • Pausing or activating campaigns, ad sets, or ads

  • Changing budgets

  • Creating campaigns, ad sets, ads, or creatives

  • Managing audiences or customer lists

If an action fails with a permissions error, check the connecting user’s role in the ad platform and any outstanding platform terms that need to be accepted.

What to do next

Confirm the connected user has manage-level access in the relevant platform, then ask Moby to retry the action.
