Sonar Optimize is available as a paid add-on.
Overview
If you use Elevar to send conversion events to your advertising platforms, review your existing tracking before switching to Sonar Optimize. For each connection you replace, turn off the equivalent Elevar connection and pause the Google Tag Manager (GTM) tags that send overlapping events.
Completing both steps helps prevent the same customer action from being sent through competing tracking sources.
Before you begin
Make sure you have access to your Elevar configuration, the relevant GTM containers, and Sonar Optimize in Triple Whale. In GTM, you need permission to publish the changes or someone who can publish them for you.
Identify the advertising platform, destination pixel or dataset, and events you are moving. Only disable tracking that Sonar Optimize is replacing.
Do not pause your entire GTM container or turn off unrelated tracking. Other tags may support analytics, consent management, or connections you are keeping. For Google Ads, follow the transition guidance below before stopping an existing conversion source used for bidding.
Steps
1. Turn off the equivalent Elevar connection
Open your Elevar configuration.
Identify the connection sending the events you are moving to Sonar Optimize.
Turn off that connection as part of the transition.
Confirm that the change has taken effect.
2. Pause the overlapping GTM tags
Turning off the Elevar connection is one part of the transition. You also need to address any GTM tags that continue sending the same events.
Open the GTM container used by your store.
Identify the tags that send the events Sonar Optimize is replacing.
Pause those tags.
Publish the GTM changes.
Check that the paused tags no longer fire for the affected customer actions.
3. Complete the Sonar Optimize setup
Follow the Sonar Optimize setup guide for the advertising platform you are moving.
Confirm the destination account and pixel, dataset, or conversion actions.
Enable the events included in your transition.
Repeat the checks for each connection you move from Elevar.
Verify the transition
Before considering the transition complete, confirm that:
The replaced Elevar connection is off.
The overlapping GTM tags are paused in the published container.
Sonar Optimize’s Delivery Overview shows delivery for the expected events.
The advertising platform is receiving those events without duplicate-event or conflicting-source warnings.
Browser and server records can represent the same customer action. The goal is correct deduplication, not necessarily a single raw event record across every tool.
Google Ads transition considerations
Google Ads requires a staged transition. Keep your existing bidding signal active while new Sonar conversion actions collect data as Secondary actions.
Follow the Sonar Optimize Google Ads setup guide to validate delivery and transition campaign goals before retiring the old source. Avoid including two conversion actions representing the same purchase in the same bidding goal. Custom goals can use Secondary actions for bidding, too.
