Moby, Triple Whale's AI Ecommerce Assistant, enables customers to analyze and interact with business data through a generative AI chat feature, powered by Triple Whale's machine learning and OpenAI. To support this feature, Triple Whale has engaged OpenAI as a subprocessor for customer personal data under a Data Processing Addendum (DPA). This DPA imposes obligations and restrictions equivalent to those in Triple Whale’s DPA with its customers.

Key details:

  • Purpose of Data Sharing: OpenAI accesses customer personal data solely to support the AI Ecommerce Assistant feature.

  • Data Usage for Model Training: OpenAI does not use Triple Whale customer data to train its models or improve its services, in line with its enterprise policies and the DPA.

  • Data Processing Trigger: OpenAI processes customer data only when a customer initiates a search query within the platform, triggering Triple Whale’s API to generate a response.

This ensures that customer data is handled securely and responsibly in alignment with strict contractual agreements.
