Reconnect your Google Analytics 4 integration

Overview

Reconnecting the Google Analytics integration refreshes the connection between Triple Whale and Google Analytics 4. Use it when:

  • You've been asked to reconnect to pick up a recent fix

  • Your GA4 data has stopped updating in Triple Whale.

  • The Google account originally used to connect has changed passwords, lost permissions, or been removed.

📝 Reconnecting refreshes the connection — you won't lose data in Triple Whale.

Before you start

  • Sign in to Google with the same Google account that has access to the GA4 property you want to sync. This is the most common cause of failed reconnects.

  • Make sure you have permission in Triple Whale to manage integrations for your shop.

Steps

  1. In Triple Whale, go to Data → Integrations.

  2. Find the Google Analytics integration and click Disconnect.

  3. Click Connect on the Google Analytics integration.

  4. Complete the Google sign-in and authorization flow, using the Google account that has access to your GA4 property.

  5. Toggle on the GA4 account(s) you want to sync.

  6. Allow the next sync to complete (typically within a few hours).

Verify it worked

  • Open your GA4 dashboard in Triple Whale.

  • For a closed prior day (e.g., yesterday), compare Revenue to the same day in Google Analytics 4. The values should match closely.

  • If you reconnected to fix a Revenue mismatch, the duplicated rows or inflated totals when grouping by city should also be gone.

Good to know

  • Only the Google Analytics integration is affected. Your Google Ads integration is a separate card and will continue to sync as normal.

  • Reconnecting only refreshes how new data is brought in. Older data from before the fix may still show the previous values. If you need a specific historical date range corrected, contact support with the date range and your shop ID.

  • If only one of several GA4 properties stops syncing, the most likely cause is that the Google account used to connect has lost permissions for that property. Restore access in Google, then reconnect.

  • Reconnecting will not change the difference in Sessions, Users, or Views between Triple Whale and GA4 — those gaps are by design. See Why don't my GA4 Sessions match what I see in Triple Whale?.
