Overview

Compass helps ecommerce teams make better budget decisions by bringing together multiple measurement signals, such as first-party attribution, incrementality, and marketing mix modeling, or MMM.

The Command Center is the Compass view designed to make those signals easier to act on.

Instead of reviewing every measurement source separately, the Command Center gives operators a centralized place to understand channel performance, review measurement context, and identify decisions that may need attention.

It is designed for cross-channel decision-making. Use it when you need to understand where budget may be working, where confidence is stronger or weaker, and where deeper analysis may be needed.

Key terms

  • Command Center: The Compass operator view for reviewing channel performance, measurement context, and decision support in one place.

  • Operator view: A summarized view designed to help teams make decisions, not just analyze data.

  • Channel: A marketing channel, such as Meta, Google, TikTok, email, affiliate, or another channel included in your Compass setup.

  • Measurement signal: A source of performance information, such as first-party attribution, incrementality, MMM, or platform reporting.

  • Model: A measurement model or measurement input used to help interpret channel performance.

  • Decision support: Context that helps your team decide whether to increase, decrease, shift, or further investigate marketing spend.

What the command center helps you do

The Command Center helps your team:

  • Review cross-channel performance in one place.

  • Understand which channels may need attention.

  • Compare performance using Compass measurement context.

  • Identify where measurement signals may agree or disagree.

  • Prepare for budget planning conversations.

  • Decide where deeper review may be needed.

  • Use Compass as a decision-support layer instead of switching between disconnected reports.

Available views and details may vary based on your Compass setup, connected data, and product access.

What you may see in the command center

Depending on your account setup and available Compass features, the Command Center may include views such as:

Area

What it helps with

Channel performance

Understand how channels are performing across available measurement signals.

Measurement context

Review the models, attribution, incrementality, or other inputs supporting the view.

Decision support

Identify where budget decisions or deeper investigation may be needed.

Signal confidence

Understand where measurement signals may be stronger, weaker, or incomplete, where available.

Navigation to deeper views

Move from the high-level operator view into more detailed Compass analysis, where available.

How to use the command center

Use the Command Center as a starting point for cross-channel budget review:

  1. Click on Marketing Acquisition > Compass > Command Center tab

  2. Review the channel-level performance summary.

  3. Check which measurement signals are available for the channel you are reviewing.

  4. Look for channels where signals agree, disagree, or appear incomplete.

  5. Use the available context to decide whether to keep monitoring, investigate deeper, or prepare a budget decision.

  6. If Moby 2 is available in your account, ask Moby to explain the channel or budget question using Compass context.

Verify / expected result

You should be able to identify which channels need attention, which signals support the current read, and whether the next step is a budget decision or deeper investigation.

How the command center fits into compass

Compass is the broader measurement system. The Command Center is the operator-facing view that helps teams use Compass for decisions.

Think of it this way:

Compass area

Purpose

Compass

The measurement system that brings together first-party attribution, incrementality, MMM, and other measurement context.

Command Center

The operator view that helps your team interpret that context and decide what to review or act on next.

Deeper Compass views

More detailed views that may help explain a specific channel, model, test, or recommendation.

The Command Center is a starting point for decision-making. If your team needs more detail, you can use the broader Compass experience to investigate the underlying context.

When to use the command center

Use the Command Center when you want a fast, cross-channel read on marketing performance.

Good examples include:

  • Before a budget planning meeting.

  • During a weekly performance review.

  • When deciding whether to shift spend across channels.

  • When platform-reported numbers and broader measurement signals do not match.

  • When you need to understand which channels deserve deeper review.

  • When you want to see how Compass is interpreting your channel performance.

The Command Center is most useful for budget planning and cross-channel review.

Example questions the command center can help answer

The Command Center can help your team investigate questions like:

  • “Which channels need attention?”

  • “Where are we seeing stronger or weaker performance?”

  • “Where do we have enough measurement confidence to make a decision?”

  • “Where do we need more analysis before shifting budget?”

  • “Which channels should we review before the next planning meeting?”

  • “Are our measurement signals aligned or telling different stories?”

The exact questions you can answer may depend on the Compass views available in your account.

Command center and moby 2

When Moby 2 and Compass are both available, Moby may be able to use Compass measurement context to support better recommendations.

For example, Moby may use Compass context when helping explain channel performance, compare budget options, or prepare media-buying recommendations.

The Command Center gives your team a place to review measurement context directly, while Moby can help translate that context into analysis, recommendations, and next steps where supported.

Important to know

The Command Center is a decision-support view. It should help you decide where to investigate or act, but it does not replace reviewing the underlying business context before making major budget changes.

  • The Command Center is part of Compass.

  • Available views may depend on your Compass setup and product access.

  • Compass data may differ from platform dashboards because it uses broader measurement context.

  • The Command Center is designed for cross-channel decision support, not as a replacement for every detailed analytics view.

  • If your measurement setup is incomplete, the Command Center may have less context to work with.

  • Your team should still consider business context such as margin, inventory, promotions, and growth goals before making budget decisions.
