TL;DR
The Moby Library is a collection of ready-to-use prompts and automations you can fill in and run in Moby without writing a prompt from scratch. Browse a prompt or automation, fill in a few brackets with your own details, and either copy it into Moby yourself or send it straight over.
Overview
Writing a strong Moby prompt takes some practice: you need to know what data Moby can see, how to phrase the ask, and what output actually helps you act on it.
The Moby Library skips that learning curve for you. If you use Moby and want faster, more consistent results without starting from a blank chat every time, this is built for you.
Key terms
Term | Definition |
Prompt | A ready-made question or request you can fill in and send to Moby. The library currently has 51 prompts. |
Automation | A ready-made recurring request you can fill in and set up to run automatically. The library currently has 26 automations. |
Bracket | A placeholder inside a prompt or automation (like a metric, date range, or Slack channel name) that you fill in with your own details before running it. |
Fill and Run | The button that opens a page where you fill in a prompt's or automation's brackets with your own details. |
Auto send | A checkbox, off by default, that sends a filled-in prompt straight to Moby the moment you click Open in Moby. |
Before you begin
You need access to the Moby Library landing page and an active Moby chat in your business app.
Have your specific details ready (the metric you want to look at, your date range, a Slack channel name, a run time, etc.), since most prompts and automations include brackets you'll fill in before running them.
Steps
Go to the Moby Library landing page.
You'll see two button options: Browse Prompts and Browse Automations.
Click Browse Prompts to jump down to the 51 available prompts, organized by category, and browse to find one suited to your job.
On the prompt you want, click Fill and Run (the blue button, top right of the prompt card).
Fill in each bracketed field with your own details.
For example, on the Root Cause Deep Dive prompt, you'd choose a metric (web sessions, new customers, or revenue), enter a date period (for example, last 7 days), and enter a year-over-year comparison (for example, +30%).
Choose how to run it:
Click Copy Prompt to copy the filled-in prompt to your clipboard, then paste it manually into your Moby chat in your business app and adjust it there if needed.
Click Open in Moby to load the filled-in prompt directly into Moby.
If Auto send is checked, Moby sends it immediately using your default AI model. If Auto send is unchecked (the default), the prompt loads into Moby without sending, so you can adjust it or switch the AI model before sending it yourself.
To use a recurring automation instead, click Browse Automations on the landing page to jump down to the 26 available automations, organized by category the same way.
On the automation you want, click Fill and Run and fill in its brackets.
For example, the Morning Slack Pulls automation asks for a Slack channel name and a run time (for example, #sales, 7:30 a.m. PST).
Choose Copy Prompt or Open in Moby, the same as with a standalone prompt.
Verify / Expected result
Moby returns a response addressing the job the prompt or automation was built for, using your brand's data and the details you filled in.
Troubleshooting pointer
If Moby's response doesn't match what the prompt promises, confirm every bracket was filled in and that the full prompt was copied or sent.
