Overview
Product Analytics is a revolutionary tool with which businesses can now gain a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of their product line, making data-driven decisions and elevating their product strategies to new heights.
Product Analytics is designed to empower businesses to make better merchandising decisions by providing a robust array of real-time KPIs for every product or variant. The tool is powered by first-party data and offers a vast range of KPIs including Ad Spend, ROAS, Contribution Margin, Return Rate, and many more. This wealth of data will allow businesses to make informed decisions and achieve a competitive advantage.
How it Works
If you're wondering how we manage to attribute ad spend to individual products, here is the exact logic:
We look to see which ads drove sales of product A
We look to see which products were purchased downstream from that set of ads
We tally up the total number of orders containing any of those products
Ad spend gets attributed to each product in proportion to its share of total orders
And all of this is done on a last-click basis.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the calculation for Return Rate
?
The calculation is:
Total Returned
/Total Sold
2. What is the Blended NC ROAS
based on?
It is has the same calculation as standard ROAS (
Revenue / Cost x 100
) but excludes orders from people who were already customers
3. How does Ad Spend associated with dynamic catalog ads factor into ROAS?
Ad Spend associated with dynamic catalog ads is treated the same way as ad spend from any other ad:
(i) we trace which products were purchased downstream from clicks of that ad,
(ii) out of that set of orders we tally how many contained each product,
(iii) we apportion the ad spend across those products in proportion to their prominence in the orders.
4. If ads drive traffic toward a collection page rather than a specific product page, how does that affect the calculated metrics?
The destination URL of an ad is immaterial to the method we use for attributing ad spend to products. Instead, performance metrics are based on whether the products were actually purchased downstream from each ad click.
5. How is CPA being calculated on the Product Analytics page?
Cost Per Acquisition (CPA) on the Product Analytics page is calculated by:
Attributing Ad Spend to Products: Ad spend is distributed to products based on their prominence in the orders placed downstream from ad clicks.
Counting New Customers: The number of new customers who purchased each product is determined.
Calculating CPA: The attributed ad spend for each product is divided by the number of new customers to determine the CPA.
6. Can you explain why certain ads are being shown as associated with certain products?
Triple Whale is showing you the actual ad or ads that were clicked on that ultimately led to the purchase of that product.
