How to connect Moby to Slack

Overview

Connect Moby to Slack so your team can use Moby 2 from your Slack workspace and bring Triple Whale shop data into Slack conversations.

Before you begin

Make sure you have access to the Triple Whale account and Slack workspace you want to connect.

Connecting Moby to Slack

  1. In Triple Whale, go to Settings

  2. Under AI Settings click on Moby

  3. Click on the Add to Slack button

  4. Review the Slack workspace you want to connect from drop down.

    1. If not shown sign into Slack using "+ Add another workspace)

  5. Click Allow for the app permissions

  6. Redirect will go back to Triple Whale App and. a "Slack connected successfully!" prompt appears

Add Moby to Slack Channels

Once Slack connection is successfull the next step is to add Moby to the appropriate channels. Moby generally cannot see private channel content unless invited.

  1. In Slack, go to desired channel #channel-name

  2. In channel invite Moby to channel by typing message /invite @Moby

  3. Once Moby has joined we can post prompts in channel for Moby

Verify the connection

The connection is working when Moby responds in Slack and can answer a question using the connected Triple Whale shop context.
