Getting Started

Step 1: Define Your Email Content

Open Moby chat at triplewhale.com/chat and describe the email you want to create. Be specific about your message, tone, and any promotions or offers you want to highlight.

Example prompts:

  • "Create a promotional email announcing our 30% off summer sale"

  • "Write a re-engagement email for customers who haven't purchased in 90 days"

  • "Draft a product launch email for our new skincare line with an exclusive early access offer"


Step 2: Specify Your Target Audience

Tell Moby who should receive this email.

By default, Moby responds to your prompt by defining the segment. You can describe your audience using customer behaviors, purchase history, engagement levels, or any custom criteria.

Example targeting prompts:

  • “Target VIP customers who have spent over $500 in the last year.”

  • “Send to customers who viewed products but didn’t purchase in the last 30 days.”

  • “Target subscribers who joined in the last two weeks and haven’t made their first purchase.”

After the email has been generated, you can either confirm the segment you want to use or choose a target audience from your available segments in Klaviyo.


Step 3: Review Generated Content

Moby will generate your email content and create a matching segment in Klaviyo based on your targeting criteria. Review both before proceeding.

Configure Campaign Settings

Before sending or saving your campaign, configure the following settings:

Description

Campaign Name

Internal name for your campaign. Use a descriptive name for easy identification in Klaviyo.

Subject Line

The email subject your recipients will see. Keep it compelling and under 50 characters for best results.

Preview Text

The preview snippet shown after the subject line in email clients. Supports the subject and entices opens.

From Name

The sender name recipients will see (e.g., "Your Brand" or "Sarah from Your Brand").

From Email

The email address the campaign will be sent from. Must be a verified sending domain in Klaviyo.

Campaign Type

Promotional: Marketing emails (sales, announcements). Transactional: Order-related emails that bypass unsubscribes.

Target Audience

The Klaviyo segment Moby created based on your targeting criteria. You can select an existing segment or use the new one.

Smart Sending

Enable Klaviyo Smart Sending to prevent recipients from receiving too many emails in a short period. Recommended for promotional campaigns.

Links & UTM Tracking

Configure UTM parameters for tracking campaign performance in your analytics tools. Moby can auto-generate these based on your campaign name.


Send Options

Once your campaign is configured, choose how you want to proceed:

Create as Draft

Save your email and segment to Klaviyo without sending. Perfect for:

  • Reviewing and fine-tuning content in Klaviyo's editor

  • Getting approval from team members before sending

  • Adding advanced Klaviyo features like dynamic content blocks

  • Scheduling manually through Klaviyo later


Send Immediately

Launch your campaign right away. The email will be sent to your selected segment as soon as you confirm. Use this when:

  • Running time-sensitive promotions

  • Responding to trending topics or events

  • Sending urgent announcements


Schedule for Later

Pick a specific date and time to send your campaign. Ideal for:

  • Timing sends for optimal engagement (based on your audience's behavior)

  • Sending during business hours in your customers' time zones

Use Smart Sending Wisely

Enable Smart Sending for promotional campaigns to respect your customers' inbox. Disable it only for critical transactional emails or time-sensitive announcements where every recipient must receive the message.

  4. Review the generated email content and segment

  5. "Make the subject line more exclusive-feeling and add urgency to the preview text"

  6. Configure campaign settings:

    • Campaign Name: "Summer Collection VIP Early Access"

    • Subject Line: "You're In ✨ Exclusive 24-Hour Early Access"

    • From Name: "[Your Brand] VIP"

    • Smart Sending: Enabled

  7. Select "Schedule for Later" and set for 9:00 AM the day before the public launch

  8. Confirm and schedule the campaign


Requirements

  • Your Klaviyo account must be connected to Triple Whale

  • You must have appropriate permissions in Klaviyo to create campaigns and segments

  • Your sending domain must be verified in Klaviyo for the "From Email" address

ℹ️ Note: If you don't have Klaviyo connected, Moby will prompt you to set up the integration before creating email campaigns


Troubleshooting

"I can't see my Klaviyo segments"

Ensure your Klaviyo integration is active in Triple Whale settings. Segments may take a few moments to sync after creation.

"My campaign isn't sending"

Check that your sending domain is verified in Klaviyo and that the "From Email" matches an approved sender address.

"The segment size is smaller than expected"

Review your targeting criteria—multiple conditions narrow your audience. Ask Moby to "show me the segment criteria" to see exactly what filters were applied.
