UTMs help Triple Whale attribute orders and sessions to your OpenAI Ads traffic in the pixel and customer journey. The native integration is a direct API connection that pulls your actual ad performance (spend, impressions, clicks, and more) without any manual tagging or exports. Using both gives you accurate attribution from UTMs and complete spend and delivery metrics from the integration.
What UTM parameters do I need on my OpenAI Ads?
The recommended way to set up UTM tracking for OpenAI Ads is through Triple Whale's Tracking Settings page using the Fix UTMs button. This is the easiest and most reliable method — manually configuring UTMs for OpenAI Ads is complex, and the Fix UTMs button handles it automatically.
The correct UTM parameters are:

These capture campaign, ad set, and ad-level data so Triple Whale can attribute performance correctly across your OpenAI Ads.
Important: OpenAI Ads does not support dynamic parameters natively. Triple Whale's Fix UTMs feature reads your campaign hierarchy and inserts the correct values automatically — which is why using the in-app tool is strongly recommended over manual setup.
To use Fix UTMs:
