How to connect ChatGPT Ads to Triple Whale

Overview

ChatGPT Ads is an advertising platform for running paid campaigns inside ChatGPT. Connecting it to Triple Whale brings your spend, impressions, clicks, and related metrics into the same place as your other marketing channels. This guide walks you through creating your API key and completing the connection. The connection is a direct API link, so you do not need to tag or export data by hand.

Before you begin

  • You need an ChatGPT Ads Manager account that can create API keys.

  • You need a Triple Whale account with permission to manage integrations.

  • At least one active campaign must exist in your ChatGPT Ads account. Without one, the connection cannot be completed.

Warning: Your API key is tied to your ad account. Keep it private and do not share it publicly.

Steps

Step 1: Create your ChatGPT AdsAPI key

  1. Log in to your ChatGPT Ads Manager account

  2. Click Settings in the left navigation

  3. Select General under Settings

  4. Scroll to the API Keys section

  5. Click + Create New Key

  6. Name the key so you can recognize it later, for example "Triple Whale."

  7. Copy the key and store it somewhere secure

Note: The ChatGPT Ads Manager key is separate from the standard OpenAI platform API key. Generate it from ChatGPT Ads Manager.

Step 2: Connect ChatGPT Ads in Triple Whale

  1. Log in to your Triple Whale account

  2. Go to Data, then open Integrations

  3. Search for ChatGPT Ads in the integrations list

  4. Click Connect on the ChatGPT Ads card

  5. Paste your API key into the connection field

  6. Click Save

Verify and expected result

After you save, Triple Whale begins pulling your ChatGPT Ads performance data. The data appears in your dashboard a short time after you connect.

You will then see an ChatGPT Ads widget on your Summary page showing the metrics below.
