Overview
Snapchat segment sync lets you send a Triple Whale Customer Segment directly to your connected Snapchat ad account as a synced audience. Once synced, Snapchat keeps the audience updated automatically as customers enter or exit the segment, so you do not need to re-export or re-upload a list.
You can use a synced segment for retargeting, exclusions, or as a seed audience for Snapchat lookalikes, all built from your Triple Whale customer data.
How It Works
Once you've created and saved a segment, you can sync it to your connected Snapchat ad account.
Triple Whale creates a new audience in Snapchats Audience Library, and keeps it updated as customers enter or exit your segment.
This audience appears under Audiences > Audience Library in Snapchat Ads Manager, with the Shared From column showing Triple Whale.
Before you start
You need an active Snapchat Ads integration in Triple Whale.
You need at least one saved Customer Segment.
Note: You cannot sync a segment until it finishes building. Wait for the segment to fully process before setting up syncs.
To Sync a Segment to Snapchat:
Go to your Segments list.
Locate the segment you want to sync and click the three-dot menu (⋮) on its right side. A menu opens with View Segment Rules, Manage Syncs, and Export as CSV.
Select Manage Syncs. The Syncs modal opens.
Under Provider, select Snapchat.
Under Snapchat Account, select your connected ad account.
Click Submit. Triple Whale creates a new audience in Snapchat Audience Library,
You'll find it under Audiences > Audience Library, with Shared From showing Triple Whale.
Managing Syncs
From the three-dot menu on any segment, you can:
View Segment Rules: see the conditions that define the segment.
Manage Syncs: add, edit, or remove platform syncs.
Export as CSV: download the segment as a file.
Why Sync to Snapchat?
More accurate audiences
Triple Pixel captures events that Snapchat's native pixel misses. Syncing these segments means your Snapchat audiences include customers who would otherwise be invisible to the platform.
Better lookalikes
Use your synced Triple Whale segment as the seed audience when creating a lookalike audience in Snapchat. Select it as your Seed Audience, choose your target country and Lookalike Type (for example, Balance), and Snapchat names the new audience following the pattern "Lookalike - [Type] - [Country] [Seed Audience Name]" (for example, "Lookalike - Balance - United States Interested Prospects"). Because your seed data is more complete, the resulting lookalike audiences perform better.
Smarter exclusions
Exclude recent purchasers, high-value customers, or any custom segment from prospecting campaigns on Snapchat, without relying solely on Snapchat's own attribution window.
Common Use Cases
Exclude recent buyers
Sync a "Purchased in last 14 days" segment and use it as an exclusion in your Snapchat prospecting campaigns to avoid wasted ad spend.
Target cart abandoners
Sync your cart abandoner segment for retargeting campaigns on Snapchat with reminder ads or discount offers.
Build better lookalikes
Sync a segment of your highest-value repeat customers. Use it as a seed audience in Snapchat to find similar high-potential shoppers.
Re-engage lapsed customers
Sync a "Lapsed 90+ days" segment and run win-back campaigns with personalized offers on Snapchat.
