Affluencer Hub Overview

The Affluencer Hub provides a great way to track Influencers and Affiliates (hence, Affluencers).

What can you do with the Affluencer Hub?

Track ROI for Every Influencer & Affiliate

Combine the power of triple de-duplication to get the most accurate results. We take sales from three different sources, so you don't have to calculate the true ROI manually:

  1. UTM tracking

  2. Discount Codes

Do you use a 3rd party tool to manage your influencer and affiliate links like Grin or Pepperjam? Skip to this section.

Foster Relationships & Centralize All Your Affluencer Data

From creating profiles for every influencer and affiliate to measuring their ROAS and collecting the content they produce - the Affluencer Hub connects every touchpoint, deal, and post to your affluencer roster.

Track & Manage All Your Affluencer Expenses

Assign one-off or recurring expenses to every influencer and affiliate to track overall affluencer costs and measure their ROAS.

Core Components of the Hub

Manage Affluencers

Affluencers (Affiliates + Influencers) are created in three ways:

  1. Automatically based on UTMs you have in use

    1. If your influencer or affiliate links currently use utm_medium=influencer or utm_medium=affiliate, we will automatically categorize that traffic within the "Affluencer" channel in the pixel table

    2. utm_campaign should be used to identify WHO the influencer or affiliate is

    3. Use utm_source to identify WHERE the affiliate or influencer is sending traffic from (i.e. utm_source=youtube will display as Youtube)

    4. Use utm_term to define the campaign the influencer or affiliate is operating within. This could be defined as Summer 2023 or Product XYZ Launch. **If utm_term is not present, you will see (not set) in the pixel table, but the sources will still be nested underneath it.

  2. CSV upload

    1. If you're using a non-standard link convention for tracking your influencers and affiliates in a 3rd party system, you can use our CSV upload function to create "traffic rules" for all of your existing Affluencers. (more on this process below)

  3. Manual Creation

    1. If you'd like to manually create influencers and affiliates from within the Affluencer Hub, you can do so by clicking "+ Add Affluencer".

Create profiles for affluencers that work with you by specifying:

  • The "links" (i.e. the destination URL) they should be promoting

  • The Campaign their promotion is related to. Such as "Summer Product Launch". (optional)

  • The "source" or social platform (or affiliate site) they plan to send traffic from

Discount codes

Assign an existing code to the affluencer or create a new one without leaving Triple Whale. If you haven't reconnected Shopify to grant our platform the necessary permission, you will see a prompt for that when you save the form.

When setting up these codes, you can choose between a $ amount or % amount when creating an affluencer discount code directly within Triple Whale!

Each newly created discount code can be assigned to only one affluencer. Otherwise, we wouldn't know which affluencer should get credit if a buyer uses the code.

Any order that uses this discount code will automatically be attributed back to the Affluencer.

Expenses

You can add both one-time expenses and recurring ones. One-time expense in currency is assigned to date, while the recurring expense, specified as % of the sale, will get the date of the attributed sale.

Monitor performance metrics

Switch between Table and Card View and plot data on the Charts!

Table View

Table View helps to compare metrics across multiple affluencers quickly. Sort the data by Affluencer Spend, ROAS, and other Purchase-related metrics. Get a glance at uploaded content and even copy a unique Tracking URL to send to the affluencer!

Hover your mouse over the Affluencer's name to see the edit button.

Card View

Use the Card View if you work with a limited number of affluencers and are generally a more visual person. Card View provides you with all the same data as the Table View but in a more visual way.

Chart

Click the Chevron button at the top of the screen to reveal the Chart.

CSV Upload (for those using a 3rd party tool like Grin or Pepperjam)

The CSV Upload option should be used if you're using a third party affiliate or influencer tool and want to change the way traffic from these platforms are displayed within the Triple Pixel table.

For example, if you're using Pepperjam, your referral links may include something such as ?utm_source=pepperjam&utm_campaign=1234567

the utm_source denotes the traffic is from a Pepperjam influencer/affiliate and the utm_campaign denotes the influencer/affiliate iD that sent the traffic.

However, you may want all of this traffic to be nested underneath "Affluencer" in the table and you may want to transform your influencer/affiliate iD into a real name (1234567 = "Logan Paul")

Using the CSV Upload option, you can achieve this while ensuring Triple Whale is displaying your Influencer/Affiliate traffic in a way that is best understood by your team without having to change the links that your 3rd party tool has already provided you.

For more information on how to use this feature properly, please reach out to your CSM or chat in directly with our team.

Requirements

You need a Triple Pixel to use the Affluencer Hub.

FAQ

How do I provide one Affluencer with multiple links?

Option 1: Through Manual Creation

Step 1: If you haven't created an Affluencer for which you want to provide multiple links, click "Create Affluencer" at the top of the page.

  • If you've already created an affluencer and want to create new links for them, hover over their name and click the pencil icon to edit their profile

Step 2: Scroll down to the "Links" section and click the "+" icon to create new links for your affluencer

  • You will need to enter the destination url that you want your affluencer to drive traffic to. Such as your home page, product page or landing page

  • Next, type in the campaign that this traffic refers to (such as Summer Promo or Product Launch).

  • Then type in the source for which this traffic will be coming from (such as Instagram, TikTok, or Youtube)

    • Tip: Use the same "source" nomenclature across all of your influencers or affiliates (i.e. "Instagram" could be written as "ig" or "instagam")

Scroll down to the bottom of the pop-up and click Save.

Step 3: Find your Affluencer in the table or use the search bar at the top of the page to quickly filter for them

  • Next to the affluencer name, you'll see a column labeled "Tracking URL" where your tracking links are stored

  • Click the chain-link icon to copy each of the unique links to your clipboard

  • **Remember: Each of these links are unique to the destination link you entered and the source of traffic the influencer/affiliate is sending traffic from, so be sure to identify which link is for which source when sending to your influencer/affiliate.

Now you have a link that looks something like this:

yoursite.com/product-a?linkId=yourmanegirlsonia_yourmanegirlsonia_instagram&affluencerId=yourmanegirlsonia

Option 2: Manually create links using standard UTMs

If you don't want to use the Affluencer Hub creation tool, you can use standard UTMs (tracking parameters) to identify and aggregate your affluencer tracking. Here's how:

The Triple Pixel uses specific utms to organize your traffic.

If our pixel tracks a link that includes utm_medium=influencer or utm_medium=influencer we automatically categorize it as "Affluencer".

Using the utm_campaign parameter and value, we automatically create an Affluencer on your behalf.

For example, a link that looks like this

yoursite.com/?utm_medium=affluencer&utm_campaign=logan-paul

Will be displayed in the Affluencer Hub as "Logan-Paul"

If you want to create multiple links for the same Affluencer using standard utms, simply change the "utm_source" and/or "utm_term" value while keeping the utm_medium and utm_campaign values the exact same.

Logan Paul Link 1:

yoursite.com/?utm_medium=affluencer&utm_campaign=logan-paul&utm_source=youtube&utm_term=summer-2023

Logan Paul Link 2:

yoursite.com/?utm_medium=affluencer&utm_campaign=logan-paul&utm_source=instagram&utm_term=summer-2023

Because utm_campaign=logan-paul did not change, traffic to this link will always be associated with Logan Paul, but the pixel will differentiate this traffic based on the two different utm_sources (youtube and instagram).

Here's an example of how the nesting will look within the Pixel table.
