Even if you are using the Triple Pixel Auto-Install method for your Shopify store, third-party checkouts (such as BetterCart, Recharge Custom, or Upscribe) pose a unique challenge. Because those pages technically are hosted outside of your Shopify store (even though your site visitors may not notice it), Triple Whale does not have the visibility to know they exist, nor the permissions needed to write code to those pages.

Don't worry: it's simple to manually install the Triple Pixel to your third-party checkout. With a few minutes of work, you can track conversions on those pages along with the rest of your Shopify store using Triple Whale.

Get Started

Because each third-party checkout app is different, we've highlighted the process for just a handful of popular apps below:

They all follow the same general guidelines. Copy and customize our Triple Pixel script, and paste it into the <head> tags of your third-party checkout page. However, if you do have a site manager on your team who is more comfortable dealing with Javascript code, we'd recommend sending them these instructions.

Better Cart

  1. Open the Better Cart app within your Shopify store. Click the "Settings" button from the left-side navigation menu then scroll down to "Custom Scripts".

  2. Click the Create Custom Script button on the right side of the screen. You will then be presented with a modal where you can select where the script will be placed as well as the area to paste your custom scripts.

  3. Select "Thank You Page" in the dropdown, and enter a Name (ideally one you would recognize, e.g. "Thank you page").

  5. Paste the script into the code field.

  6. Click "Create".

Recharge (custom checkout)

Triple Whale automatically supports the Shopify Recharge checkout. The below solution is ONLY for the custom Recharge checkout.

  1. Click Storefront in your merchant portal and select Checkout.

  2. Copy the Third-Party/Custom Checkout script provided on the Pixel Settings page.

  3. Paste the code into the Thank you page text box.
