Welcome to Triple Whale! This article provides a comprehensive guide to setting up your Triple Whale account for your business, ensuring seamless integration and optimal data tracking. By following these steps, you will connect your ecommerce shop account (Shopify, BigCommerce [Beta] or WooCommerce [Beta]), install the Triple Whale Pixel, integrate various platforms, and enhance data quality through additional configurations.

Each section will walk you through essential actions such as setting up UTMs, post-purchase surveys, and adding cost details. These steps are crucial for leveraging Triple Whale's powerful insights and achieving accurate, holistic views of your store's performance.


Basic Setup

Connect Your Ecommerce Shop Account

Connect your Shopify, BigCommerce, or WooCommerce shop account so Triple Whale can begin importing data relating to your orders, refunds, and more. This data powers Triple Whale. Without it, we’re like a rocket without our boosters.


Install Pixel 


Our pixel is our window into your shop. With it we track all visitors to your site, watching where they came from and what they’re doing. Without it, we’ve lost our visibility into what your ad platforms are really doing for you.


Custom Pixel Installation

There are instances wherein additional steps are necessary. If any of the following apply to your store, please review the relevant documentation linked below.

Connect your Integrations 


The more you give, the more you get back. Connect all of your platforms and tools to Triple Whale so that we can provide you with insights, analysis, and powerful dashboards.


Add Pixel UTMs


Our Pixel needs a few signals to understand where your shoppers are coming from- down to the exact ad. To ensure proper tracking, add our UTM tracking parameters to your ads.


Improve your Data Quality 


Set up Post-Purchase Survey


Improve your attribution with real feedback from your customers with Triple Whale’s free post-purchase survey tool. Our easy, one-click install survey works seamlessly with the Triple Pixel, giving access to even more data about what marketing activities are driving conversions.

Add your costs


Shipping costs, cost of goods, payment gateway costs, and any custom expenses affect the way your net sales, net profit, and other metrics are calculated. Add these expenses in Triple Whale to get a more complete view of your performance.

Verify your data


Triple Whale uses first-party data and powerful attribution models to give you a single source of truth. This means that some metrics will be calculated differently than how they are in other platforms. That’s normal.
