Overview
Use this guide to create your Triple Whale account, connect your store and marketing accounts, install the Triple Pixel, and review your setup.
The walkthrough uses a demo Shopify store with a standard Shopify storefront and checkout. It connects Meta, activates a post-purchase survey, and continues without adding shipping costs or inviting team members.
Follow the instructions that match your store type. Headless storefronts, custom websites, and third-party checkouts can require additional installation steps.
Before you begin
Have the following ready:
A business email address for your Triple Whale account.
Your store platform, business URL, storefront type, and checkout configuration.
Permission to install apps on your store and authorize your marketing accounts.
Your shipping costs and other expenses, if you want to configure them during setup.
If you cannot approve a connection, involve your store admin. For setup that requires code changes, involve a developer or site manager.

Select Brand or Agency to match how you work.
Answer How did you hear about Triple Whale?
Review your marketing communication preference.
Review the linked terms and privacy policy.
Click Create Account.
The next screen is Connect your store. Creating an account does not authorize a store connection or install tracking.
Step 2: Select your platform and enter business details
On Connect your store, select the platform that powers your business.
Enter your Business URL.
Select your annual revenue range.
Select your role.
Select your industry category.
Complete the industry field when it appears.
Review the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
If you agree, select the acceptance checkbox.
Click Continue.
For the Shopify example, the Welcome to Triple Whale! screen appears with a Get started button. Your business details are submitted, but Shopify authorization comes next.
Choose the path for your store
Your store type | How to proceed | Who can help |
Standard Shopify storefront | Select Shopify. Follow the Shopify connection and standard installation steps below. | A store admin can approve app access and save theme changes. |
Headless Shopify storefront | Select Shopify when Shopify powers the underlying store. Use the headless or custom website Pixel guide for the storefront. | A developer or site manager can add and test the tracking code. |
WooCommerce store | Select WooCommerce. Follow Connecting WooCommerce to Triple Whale, then use the WooCommerce Pixel installation guide. | A WordPress admin can install the plugin. Involve your site manager if code changes are needed. |
BigCommerce store | Select BigCommerce and follow its connection prompts. Ask Triple Whale Support for platform-specific tracking guidance if the next step is unclear. | Your store admin can authorize the connection. |
Another platform or custom sales platform | Use the matching option offered for your business. If you are unsure which option applies, contact Support before continuing. | Your technical team and Triple Whale Support can confirm the correct setup. |
The Shopify video does not demonstrate the other platforms’ connection screens. Do not select Shopify solely to bypass a platform warning.
Step 3: Connect your store
For the Shopify path shown in the video:
Click Get started on the welcome screen.
Click Connect to Shopify.
Confirm that Shopify opens the correct store.
Review the access requested by Triple Whale.
If you approve the access, click Install.
Wait for Shopify to return you to Triple Whale.
The setup guide opens Connect Your Data. Entering a business URL alone does not authorize Shopify access.
If you cannot approve app access, ask your store admin to complete the connection. For another platform, follow its connection prompts instead.
Step 4: Connect your marketing accounts
Connect the ad platforms and marketing tools your business uses. The video connects Meta as an example.
Click Connect on the Meta card.
Confirm the Facebook profile that has access to the account you want to connect.
Approve the connection prompts in Meta.
Back in Triple Whale, review the Meta settings.
Select the business account you want to connect.
Review the attribution window and view-data options.
Click Save.
Click Next when you are ready to continue.
An attribution window is the period used to associate an ad interaction with a conversion. Use the settings for your business rather than copying the demo selections.
After saving, the Meta card offers View Connection Details and Disconnect. A redirect or loading message alone does not confirm the connection.
For more detail, use the Meta Ads Integration guide. Use the Integrations & Tracking Setup Guide for your other platforms.
Step 5: Install the Triple Pixel
The Triple Pixel collects website activity used in tracking and attribution. Describe your actual storefront and checkout before choosing an installation method.
For the standard Shopify configuration shown in the video:
Select Hosted by Shopify / Standard for the business implementation.
Select Standard Shopify Checkout.
Select No for third-party landing pages only if that matches your business.
Click Save Setup.
Click Enable Triple Pixel under the recommended installation.
In the Shopify theme editor, confirm that the Triple Pixel app embed is on.
Click Save. WARNING: Saving the theme changes updates your storefront.
Wait for Changes saved.
Return to the Triple Whale tab.
Click Next after reviewing the installation result.
The recording shows a Pixel installation success message. This does not verify every event or checkout page.
Complete the checkout setup and verification in Installing the Triple Pixel to your Shopify Store. For Shopify Checkout Extensibility, that guide includes Web Pixel enablement and a check in Shopify’s Customer Events.
Use additional installation guidance when it applies
For a headless storefront or custom website, use the headless or custom website Pixel guide.
For externally hosted landing pages or blogs, use Adding the Triple Pixel to Third-Party Landing Pages.
For a third-party checkout, use Adding the Triple Pixel to Third-Party Checkouts.
For WooCommerce, use Installing the Triple Pixel to your WooCommerce Store.
Use the verification instructions for your installation method. A Shopify theme embed does not install tracking on every externally hosted page.
Step 6: Set up your post-purchase survey
A post-purchase survey (PPS) asks customers what led them to purchase. Installation depends on your checkout.
In the Shopify setup guide shown in the video:
Click Install Post-Purchase Survey & Continue.
Review the installation instructions in the modal.
Complete the checkout installation that applies to your business.
Click Activate Survey when the installation is ready.
Review the result.
Click Next to continue.
The demo shows a Survey activated successfully message. It does not show the survey on a customer’s checkout.
For Shopify, follow Post-Purchase Survey (PPS) for Shopify Stores. The guide covers adding the survey app block to the Thank you and Order status pages and testing the survey.
For other store types, use:
If an activation message and installation status disagree, check the platform-specific installation and contact Support with both messages. Do not treat activation alone as a live-checkout test.
Step 7: Add shipping costs
Choose the shipping-cost method that matches the expenses you pay to fulfill orders. Use Add Shipping Costs for imports, shipping integrations, and shipping profiles.
The walkthrough clicks Next without importing costs or creating a shipping profile. If you continue without adding costs, finish this setup before relying on profitability reporting.
Step 8: Invite your team
Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.
Select the appropriate role.
Click Send Invite.
Click Next when you are ready to continue.
The walkthrough continues without sending an invitation. Clicking Next alone does not invite a team member.
Use Invite Team Members for permissions and instructions after onboarding.
Step 9: Review setup and open Summary
If a promotional popup appears, close it to return to the setup guide.
Review the status labels and any settings you skipped.
Click Let’s get started!
The Summary dashboard opens. The demo store shows zero values, which do not confirm tracking or a completed data sync.
You can scan the QR code on the setup Summary screen to get the mobile app.
Use Track KPIs with the Summary Dashboard to learn how to review and organize your metrics.
Finish setup before relying on your reports
These tasks extend beyond the actions demonstrated in the video:
Complete any store or marketing connections you skipped.
Verify storefront and checkout tracking using the guide for your installation method.
Complete survey installation and testing for your checkout.
Add tracking parameters to your ads using the UTM Tracking Guide for Triple Pixel. UTM parameters are tags added to a URL to identify traffic sources.
Add cost of goods sold, payment gateway fees, and custom expenses using Input Your Expenses & Track Profitability.
Finish shipping-cost setup and invite the people who need access.
When comparing reports, use the same date range and check the timezone, filters, attribution model, and metric definition.
Get help if you cannot continue
Contact Triple Whale Support through the in-app chat if your platform is unclear, authorization fails, or setup statuses disagree.
Include your store platform, the step where you stopped, the exact message, and a screenshot with sensitive details hidden. Do not send passwords or authorization tokens.
